• The challenge event will be based around the Rhinog Mountains and Coed Y Brenin forest.

  • This remote part of the Snowdonia National Park has a wild and rugged landscape with panoramic views of Cader Idris to the south and Snowdon to the north.

The accommodation is self-catering Norwegian-style log cabins, which sleep 6 in three shared rooms and are all fully equipped with showers, TV and cooking facilities. A complimentary supply of breakfast provisions plus tea/coffee are also included.

Dinner is provided at the Rhiw Coch Inn, a 16th- century manor house a short walk from the cabins. The three-course meal is from a set menu.

The Bae Abermaw Hotel is a superbly stylish contemporary property with a spectacular position overlooking Cardigan Bay and the Mawdach estuary. The Hotel is located at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park, where the landscape is wild and rugged with panoramic views of Snowdon to the north and Cader Idris to the south. The hotel is within easy reach of the mountains, lakes and estuary and the Coed Y Brenin Forest.

The two-day rolling event
  • Mountain-walking over the wild and remote Rhinog Mountains.
  • Team orienteering using the fixed course in the Coed Y Brenin forest.
  • Mountain-biking around the forest tracks and trails and the cycle paths which run alongside the Mawdach Estuary.
  • Rock climbing and abseiling at Barmouth slabs, a nearby rock face; climbs to suit all abilities.
  • Canadian canoeing on the lake or the estuary depending on the tide.
  • Team games and problem solving.
